7-Zip for Windows
7-Zip is an open source utility, licensed under the GPL, for unpacking and creating archives in many different formats. It currently supports ZIP, TAR, GZIP, and BZIP2 among others. The 7z format is an LZMA compression algorithm developed by the makers of 7-Zip, and its claimed to have a compression ratio 30-70% better than that of the zip format. |
